The European Health Data Space enables the use of health data for research, innovation, public health, policy-making, and regulatory activities. It is based on a new and decentralized EU infrastructure for the secondary use of health data (HealthData@EU), which connects access to health data in all Member States.
The secondary use of health data is regulated uniformly across all Member States, facilitating access and enabling the secondary use of data from different Member States. Users must apply for a license from the health data access authority. The data permit specifies how the data may be used and for what purpose.
